"Carnival Time" is the seventh episode of the second season. It is the seventeenth episode of the series overall. It was first broadcast on HBO on June 5, 2011 and drew 0.55 million viewers.[1] It was written by David Simon & Eric Overmyer and directed by Brad Anderson.

Toni suggests to Sofia that they might scatter her father's ashes in the river at Mardi Gras. While Toni finally scatters Creighton's ashes in the Mississippi, Sofia gets drunk at a bar and has to be rescued by Davis. Delmond enjoys the parade in the company of his father. Annie enjoys Mardi Gras in the countryside. Sonny is allowed rejoin the Soul Apostles on condition that he gets clean, and finds temporary work on a shrimp boat, missing Mardi Gras. Colson is satisfied with a relatively peaceful Mardi Gras after having earlier apprehended a gun-wielding teenager.
